A Fylde health food company has picked up a national award for one of its new products.
Natures Aid which is based at St George’s business park in Kirkham won the Best New Health & Nutrition Product 2014 at the Natural & Organic Products Europe awards ceremony in London.
The company, which was founded in 1981 to provide high quality nutritional supplements, clinched the honour for its new Red Yeast Rice product.
It is designed to help people maintain normal blood cholesterol levels by providing 10mg of Monacolin K per daily serving.
Lynn Lord, managing director founded the company with Dave Lord and Paul Marshall, who still own and run the business today. She said “We are absolutely delighted to win the award for Best New Health and Nutrition Product and we would like to say a big thank you to all retailers who voted for us. It’s taken a lot of time to research and develop the product, but we are really pleased with it”.
Natures Aid previously won the award in 2011 for is FemEeze product. Its 250 products which are targeted at joint health, immune health, heart health and women’s health, are manufactured to GMP and pharmaceutical standards at the 43,000sq ft manufacturing facility in Kirkham and are sold throughout health stores in the UK.
Over the past three years Natures Aid has seen a huge demand from overseas’ markets for high quality supplements and now exports to more than 30 countries.
It employs 55 staff and recently had a visit from Fylde MP Mark Menzies where Lynn raised the issue of VitaminD deficiency in the UK in her capacity as chairman of the Health Food Manufacturers Association.
