The workshops are part of the Investment Readiness programme, which was launched earlier this year by the University, and is led by experienced venture capital investors to help businesses strengthen their potential for securing equity investment.

The next session, an Introduction to Equity Investment, will take place on May 23 at the Blackpool Enterprise Centre between 12pm - 4pm.

It will give an overview of private and institutional investors and their processes, what investors look for, as well as what they don’t look for, and the importance of a strong investment pitch.

After the introductory workshop, attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up to the full programme.

Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), completion of the Investment Readiness programme will make it easier for businesses to access the most appropriate equity funding, while also making it easier for investors to back promising opportunities.

Robert Sheffrin, Investment Director at the University of Central Lancashire, said: “The recent launch of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Funds has provided an invaluable boost to the finance available for businesses in the North.

“The Investment Readiness programme provides a great opportunity for Lancashire SMEs to significantly improve their fundraising ability, so we’d encourage businesses to attend this latest workshop to find out more about how they can benefit.”
