Alison Gledhill has for 12 years run the Blackpool and Preston franchise of Barking Mad, a national ‘home from home’ dog sitting service.

She says: “Moving house can be stressful for dogs, with a change in routine and environment, and so much going on with boxes being packed leading up to the move and the moving day itself.

“But there are ways to make it less stressful and to ease the transition into their new home.”

She advises lots of reassurance for the dog, unpacking the pet’s favourite toys, and blankets soon as possible, going exploring the new area and find new walks and get their microchip details updated. The film was shot in the show home at Redrow’s Ricksby Grange development, in Wrea Green.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow said: “In the past we’ve focused on moving home with children but we realise that a lot of our customers have pets too, so thought it would be good to provide them with some help and advice.”
