Five winners in this year’s Lancashire Tourism Awards have been named among the finalists in the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2015.

Two Fylde coast winners have made the shortlist, as announced by Marketing Lancashire, which organised the local award ceremony.

They are the St Annes Beach Huts, which scooped the Tourism Experience of the Year award this year, and The Sandcastle Water Park, which won the Access For All Tourism award.

Both will now go forward in their respective categories at the national competition.

The winners will be announced at a glittering award ceremony at the Sage Gateshead on May 11.

Ruth Connor, chief executive of Marketing Lancashire said: “Individually, they are at the top of their game but importantly for Lancashire they are ambassadors for the county where life feels good – where some of the best events, best food and drink and best attractions combine to attract over 63m visitors a year.

“They have our most sincere congratulations on their great achievement to date and our very best wishes and support as they continue on their journey towards gold in Gateshead.”
