Footballer's homes firm seeking buyer

Flitcraft Ecobuild which was set up by former Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City player Garry Flitcroft ins now being administered by Refresh Recovery of Skelmersdale.

The firm which specialises in building eco-friendly timber framed houses took over the former Maple Sustainable premises at St Michael’s near Garstang.

The 20,000 sq ft factory on the eight acre site was taken over in July 2014 and employed 25 workers.

Peter Harold from the administrators said: “I also confirm that the Company was placed into administration on 14 February 2017.

“I confirm all interested parties expressing an interest in acquiring the business will be contacted with a request to submit their offers.”

It has been reported that the business was taken into administration by G&J Properties, of which Mr Flitcroft is also a registered director.

G&J is said to have held a charge against the houses firm relating to land in St Michael’s, since August 2015.

The former Chorley manager has a portfolio of property and had branched out into making the self-build kit houses, using a timber frame system comprising injected structural insulated 
panels.

At the time Garry said: “I’ve always been interested in property.

“My dad was a builder so when I was 18 I bought four or five properties with my first signing on fee at Man City and things have snowballed from there.

“I’ve built up a large property portfolio over the last 25 years, consisting of residential and commercial property built in the traditional way.

“But this is completely different to anything I’ve done previously and I’m very excited about it.”

The houses, he said, were virtually zero carbon being so well insulated and could be built to a wide variety of designs.
