A furniture store has re-opened its doors following a devastating flood.
Water poured through the Lefton’s Furniture Group shop two months ago when a water pipe burst at Blackpool’s General Street store.
Parts of the store were closed off to the public as a stream of water damaged ceilings walls and floors causing thousands of pounds in damage.
One of the biggest sales in Lefton’s history followed the flood as a large part of the store had to be cleared out and undamaged furniture was sold off.
This cleared the way for repairs to take place, several weeks of reparation work followed along with designers and interior designers repairing, redesigning and reinventing the space.
This was not just at storefront level but behind the scenes in the stock rooms and spaces in the lower levels of the store.
Richard Lefton, director, said: “It was devastating to see streams of water rolling down the walls and pooling inches deep on the floor when I came in on the morning following the incident.
“It was all hands to the deck to get the water cleaned up but the damage had already been done.
“It’s an amazing transformation from local companies giving the store a new lease of life.”
