Blackpool law firm Blackhurst Budd Ltd has offered training contracts to two of its young lawyers, Iain Blundell and Katy Shakeshaft.
Both Iain and Katy have been with the Edwards Street firm for some time with Iain specialising in family and child care work and Katy providing assistance in the dispute resolution department with particular emphasis upon personal injury and employment law.
Head of Dispute Resolution and Training Director David Aird said: “Through hard work and endeavour both Katy and Iain have earned the offers of training contracts. They have impressed myself and my fellow directors with their commitment to both their chosen careers and to the firm during the period of time they have already spent with us.
“We all wish them well in their new positions as trainee solicitors with the firm.”
Managing Director Warren Spencer said: “In the present uncertain legal marketplace training contracts generally are not easy to find.
“The appointment of Katy and Iain reflects the firms forward thinking approach towards the future and will build upon the recent changes in the firm structure that were made following incorporation as a limited liability company in June of this year.”
