Dog owners lead the way in workplace
Working like a dog took on a new meaning at scores of Fylde coast offices and schools today.
For proud pet lovers took their lead from the 11th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day, aimed at encouraging owners to spend more quality time with their dogs.
Britain's pet charity, The Blue Cross, called on career canines to lend a paw and asked dog owners to consider how they can spend more time with their four-legged friends.
As well as promoting responsible pet ownership the event also raised funds for the charity, allowing it to continue its work caring for unwanted and sick pets.

Happy to join in the fun at Fylde Office Service Bureau in Orchard Road, St Annes, was West Highland terrier Patsy, owned by recruitment adviser Anne Singleton.
Mrs Singleton said: "Patsy was a huge hit with staff and office visitors. Colleagues said that they feel much happier with Patsy around."
The benefits of animal interaction have been understood for thousands of years.
In ancient Greece and Rome, dogs were kept to promote healing in special temples.
Through the ages people have kept dogs close to them as pets to preserve their mental health.
Nursing homes and hospitals today often have dogs in the wards as they create positive health benefits for patients.
However, for national pet food company, Oscar Pet Foods in Higher Walton, near Preston, taking dogs to work is an everyday occurrence.
One valuable member of the Oscar Pet Foods team is three-month-old Pomeranian puppy, Ralph, who goes to work every day.
Ralph's role at the pet food home delivery and advisory service, encompasses greeting visitors as they arrive, testing new food and trialling toys and training aids, which he especially likes.
