A Blackpool firm is giving young people the opportunity to experience a touch of the ‘hi-life’ as it looks for apprentices to join its expanding team.

The Hi-Life Diners Club, which enables people to get two for one dining at thousands of restaurants around the UK, is looking for customer service apprentices.

This is a new venture for the company, based next to Blackpool Airport.

Product and operations director Nicola Hargreaves said she was looking forward to meeting potential candidates for the roles.

Nicola said: “We celebrate Hi-Life’s 30th year in 2014 and in preparation for this milestone we have been looking at ways in which we can refresh the brand and to ensure its success long into the future.

“I was promoted to director in the same year and really wanted to do something to help the area’s young people into employment and teach them from the ground up.

“We have a really loyal team here at Hi-Life – many have been here for more than 10 years – so we are confident that we are a good team to work with, and sure we can learn from some enthusiastic youth.”

The roles require the right candidates to interact with Hi-Life members, assist in business retentions, advice customers about membership, data entry as well as being open to change and ready to learn new skills.

Lancashire training provider TrainingStation is supporting Hi-Life’s search for apprentices and will lead the chosen candidates through NVQ qualifications.

Director Andrea Fielding, said: “Hi-Life are giving young people from the Blackpool area a really good chance to take their first step on to the career ladder and its team is keen and ready to share the knowledge each member has gained over the years.

“There are some very good progression opportunities for the right candidates and an apprenticeship provides a great way to earn some money while gaining recognised qualifications and learning in a real life work environment.”
