A BUSINESS launched with no capital and just a website has moved into premises at Marsh Mill after just 14 months of operation.
Graphic design business Pixart studio has opened its new premises, is taking on three members of staff, and now boasts national clients after a rapid growth in business – thanks to its first client.
Harry Dorrans, who founded the business with Lucie Norton, said: “Fourteen months ago I had one client and from there have managed to build up a good portfolio.
“Now we’ve moved into Marsh Mill, we’re looking to take two staff on immediately, and a third next month.”
The firm offers designs from logos through to total company rebranding, including stationary and e-commerce website designs.
The business has also tied in with Blackpool and the Fylde College to offer apprenticeships to its students.
Harry, 29, from Thornton, added: “We’re really excited with the opening of our new shop.
“The business was started with literally no savings, from home, and it has grown from there.
Steve Pye, of the Federation of Small Businesses, said: “Some of the biggest firms in the world were founded in a recession.
“This shows that business can prosper in a recession.
“The internet is one sure way of being able to target people around the globe and it’s good news to see businesses starting up.
“We wish Pixart success.”
