Nominations in a national awards has put the gloss on a busy year for a Fylde Coast decorators.

Fine Lines Decorating and Property Maintenance Services has been chosen as a finalist in the Painting and Decorating Association’s National Premier Trophy Award.

The St Annes firm is up for two awards thanks to work completed on properties in St Annes and Elswick.

Director of the Eldon COurt firm Andrew O’Neill said they were delighted to get the nomination and if they won it would be the fifth time they had picked up a top award from the association.

He said: “I started my business in April 2005 walking the streets with home made leaflets.

“The business became a limited company in 2010 and we now employ four people.

“I trained as a fine artist and studied at University in Preston. I got into the painting business by default.

“The business survived the recession and if anything it has grow in the past three years.

“We take on contracts nationally but most of our work tends to be on the Fylde Coast or Manchester and Preston.

“We specialise in painting and decorating and provide a comprehensive property maintenance service with our own team of sub-contractors for electrical work and suchlike.

“The judges are visiting this part of the country on the 3rd April to look at The Manse in Elswick and our other entry on St Andrews Road South in St Annes.

“The Elswick house is a good one because it has a lot of local history. It is a small community and this former Church house really stands out.

“We area hopeful of winning but to be honest we are up against some big names from all over the country.

But we have won four awards in the past so you never know.

“Our previous winning jobs have been - St Annes Parish Hall, Sunningdale Court in St Annes, Edenhurst on the Inner Promenade, Lytham and Brittannia Quays Preston.”
