Deadline extended for Wyre business awards

Last year 100 firms and individuals entered and this time there are 14 categories to highlight the best in business in Wyre.

Businesses now have until November 10 to get their nominations in to www.wyre.gov.uk/wyreawards.

The black-tie awards event is to be held at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood on November 24.

NPL Estates, which manages the enterprise zone ased at Hillhouse Thornton, is one of the main sponsors along with housing company Regenda.

“We recognise that all sizes and types of businesses play an important role in the Wyre Economy. Hillhouse Business Park in Thornton has recently been announced as one of the Government’s new Enterprise Zones.

“Many companies on the site are world class standard and we hope to continue to grow and attract further investment contributing even further to the local economy and providing jobs for local people.”

The full list of awards can be seen on the entry website above but new award categories include Best service accommodation of the Year, Best self-catering accommodation of the Year, Best eating or drinking establishment of the Year, Employer of the Year, (nominated by employees), and a Made in Wyre award (for locally grown, locally made, or local produce).
