Blackpool business woman, Kristen Durose, managing director of Red Star Wealth Management has been crowned in the Financial Services category in the 2013 Enterprise Vision Awards (EVA’s) which celebrate the achievements of women in business across the North West.

With 13 years experience as a financial advisor, Kristen founded the business in 2011, with the aim of creating a client-focussed business model which encourages a relationship of trust, integrity and honesty.

Kristen had recognised that major changes to the way the financial industry worked were set to take place and wanted to build a company that could recognise and embrace these changes. Red Star Wealth Management has clients across the North West and beyond to Cumbria, Oxford, Cheshire, London and Yorkshire.

Kristen said: “Red Star Wealth is built on a foundation of understanding our clients, taking the time to get to know everyone as an individual and delivering professional advice by establishing long term relationships.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have won an EVA, as a self-taught business woman, I aim to contribute to my local business community effectively, encouraging other women to explore and develop their own business ideas and with the award I hope that I can be a role model for other women, including my daughter Izzy.”

Tracy Irwin of category sponsor, TI Payroll and Accounting said: “Being part of the Enterprise Vision Awards 2013 has been excellent, as a winner in 2011 and 2012 we decided that sponsoring the Financial Services award would be a great way of giving something back and seeing the judging side of the awards has been an inspiring experience with so many women really showing they deserve the successes they have had in their business.”
