A Blackpool restaurant celebrated its 1oth anniversary with a party for customers and staff.

The Terra Nostra on Red Bank Road was founded by owner Max Zazzu who hails originally from the Italian island of Sardinia.

Max, 45, came to the Fylde Coast to work as a bar man and waiter to improve his English.

After working at several establishments, including Rico’s In Poulton, he decided to take the next step and open his own restaurant.

He said: “The building became available in Red Bank Road and we bought it. I wanted to do Italian food with some traditional Sardinian dishes.

“Despite having a heart attack a few years ago, it has been great. I would like to thank all my staff and customers over the years.”

North Promenade hotelier Mick Grewcock was at the celebration. He said: “Max and his team are a credit to the area. We have a lot of great businesses in the Red Bank Road area, it is thriving.”
