Blackpool on show for business awards

The Winter Gardens, which won last year, is back among the finalists for this year’s awards alongside Cuffe & Taylor, the business behind the Lytham Festival, the Holiday Inn Preston and pub restaurant, The Wayfarer in Parbold.

The BIBAs will bring more than 1,000 people to Blackpool to the Tower Ballroom, showcasing the seaside town to some of the most influential people in Lancashire. Alison Forshaw, regional Managing director at Smooth North West, owned by Communicorp UK, said: “Blackpool has always been the number one venue for events in Lancashire but the investments which are being made there mean it’s aiming not just for regional status but hosting national and even international events.”

She added: “It’s an opportunity for the seaside town to show what it can do and I have no doubt with the investment which is happening and the talent and enthusiasm of Lancashire’s business community, it will do a first-class job.”
