Electricity North West.

ALMOST 3,000 homes were left with no electricity after a power cut in Blackpool.

An underground cable fault caused the blackout yesterday.

Engineers from Electricity North West were sent to Marton at 5pm to fix the fault.

A spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will be investigating the cause of the fault.”

Around half of the affected customers had their power restored by 6.15pm and the remainder within another hour.
