WHAT do 30, 235 and 87 add up to? A whole lot of fun according to chartered accountants who braved the icy conditions to show that they are not the boring number crunchers some believe.

Thirty members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales held the fastest networking event of their careers – with a ride on Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s The Big One. Organised by the Pleasure Beach’s finance director Peter Cornthwaite, the adventurous accountants enjoyed the 87mph, 235ft high ride so much, they stayed on for another circuit. Peter said: “Some think accountants are boring but this proves otherwise. Some had never been on a rollercoaster before never mind the UK’s tallest, but they all had a great time and enjoyed the networking at the Big Blue hotel afterwards.”
