A photography business which has already proved successful around Manchester and Chester is bringing a touch of Hollywood glamour to Blackpool.

Darren Nelson’s use of green screen technology, allowing party goers to be snapped in front of cinema’s most thrilling scenes, is now available to revellers on the Fylde coast through his company, PapaRatzi.

Darren, who with his twin brother David is well known around the resort as a DJ as well as a photographer, said: “I wanted to bring something I was doing elsewhere into Blackpool, and it’s nice to be able to work on our doorstep, for a change.

“Rather than the usual events photography, this incorporates the latest green screen technology that is available from the film industry plus the effects software which is straight from Hollywood.

“Whatever the theme of your party, I can find the perfect background from James Bond to Harry Potter.

“Dave has also given me some of his live stage shots to use as backgrounds, including his huge festivals, so I can even make you a pop star.

“This way event photography can be tailored to fit in with a theme, it makes it more exciting.”

Darren, 48, from Poulton, also stands in for his brother at events for OK! magazine, getting him up close and personal with the stars.

And he helped out at the Inside Soap Awards, held last month.

David covers most of the major award ceremonies in London, including The Royal Television Society Awards, the National Television Awards, the BAFTAs and Brit Awards.

He said: “Most of the concerts I photograph now tend to be in London, as they are reviewed there but most of the celebrity parties are in Manchester or Liverpool so I divide my time between London and the North West.

“Rather than being at two places at once I have brought Darren on board to cover my OK! duties if I’m away.”

David is also helping Darren launch PapaRatzi in Blackpool over the Christmas party period.

“We will probably have to wear name badges though,” he joked.

“We’ve already tried this out with the celebrities and they love it. It’s great fun.”
