A pensioner has been found dead at his home in Marton.
The man, in his 70s, was pronounced dead by paramedics this morning after collapsing behind his lounge door in Kumara Crescent, off Cherry Tree Road North.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesman John Taylor said a friend of the man called the emergency services at around 7.30am.
He said: “The man had collapsed behind the door, making it impossible for the paramedics to get in. Firefighters were called. They gained access and sadly found the man dead.”
A police spokeswoman said the death was reported as sudden but not suspicious.
A file is now being prepared for the coroner.
