POLICE believe a body found in Fleetwood was a man they had been searching for after he went missing following a visit to the dentist.
Martin Morley, of Bayside, Fleetwood, had been the subject of an extensive hunt by emergency services after he went missing on Tuesday morning.
He was last seen at about 11.15am after leaving the Oasis Dentist Surgery.
But the body of a man was found by a member of the public on waste ground in the Jameson Road area of Fleetwood shortly before 1pm yesterday.
It has not yet been formally identified but police believe it is Mr Morley.
The death is being treated as unexplained, but officers said there were no suspicious circumstances.
After he was reported missing, police said Mr Morley’s disappearance was “completely out of character” and officers were concerned for his safety.
An appeal went out in Saturday’s Gazette as part of a wider search for the 60-year-old, appealing for people to come forward if they had any information regarding his whereabouts.
