A BLACKPOOL independent clothes shop has won the prize for having the best window display in town.

Blueberries, on Topping Street, won the prestigious award for its stunning seasonal display.

Blackpool mayor Coun Sylvia Taylor and mayoress Julia Massey chose the winner of the Barbara Miller trophy, named after the late actress who played in local theatres.

The mayor said: “The mayoress and I very much enjoyed judging, the standards were very high and we offer our congratulations to Blueberries who represent the best of Blackpool town centre stores this Christmas.”

Blueberries manager Michelle Johnson added: “Christmas windows are a crucial part of the retail business and here at Blueberries we start dreaming up a new theme almost as soon as we dismantle the previous year’s Christmas window.

“We have been in business more than 20 years and it is always a challenge to find a new Christmas theme to really make Blueberries stand out”

Eileen Ormand Blackpool’s Town Centre and BID Manager said: “I am so pleased to see an independent business winning the trophy.”
