A BLACKPOOL FC star has been banned from driving by a court.
Ludovic Sylvestre had failed to give information about the driver of a speeding car, Blackpool magistrates were told.
Sylvestre, of Clifton Drive, Lytham, was found guilty after a trial in his absence.
He was disqualified from driving for six months and fined £525 and ordered to pay £85 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said the former Barcelona player, who is on a two-year contract at Bloomfield Road, was caught speeding in a Land Rover on Garstang Road, Poulton, on June 11.
Sylvestre was sent a letter asking who was driving the vehicle at the time.
Magistrates were told he had already got 12 points on his licence.
Sylvestre – a Guadaloupe international – did not attend the hearing.
His lawyer Carl Miller told the court: “My client accepts he was guilty of the offence.”
