A young single mother pleaded guilty to driving while more than twice over the alcohol limit.
Shelby Evans, 22, of Durley Road, Blackpool, who cared for her mother who had dialysis three times a week, was under great stress at the time of the offence, the court heard.
She was disqualified from driving for 15 months and fined £150 with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Margaret McCormack sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
Jessica Partington, defending, said her client had been a victim of domestic violence by her former partner, who was now in prison for violence against her.
Evans had also been going to the family courts about her ex’s access to their child.
