A Blackpool man involved in a plot to smuggle heroin into the country has been jailed.
Ishfaq Ahmed was to take delivery of nearly a kilo of the drug at his home on Byland Close, South Shore.
But the stash was picked up as it entered Heathrow Airport, and police officers managed to track down those involved.
Ahmed, 31, was jailed for three years and nine months at Preston Crown Court today.
He had pleaded guilty to evading the prohibition against the importation of diamorphine at an earlier hearing.
