A BLACKPOOL mum today described the terrifying moment a man tried to snatch her two-year-old daughter.

Little Ellie Gibson was playing in the garden of her home in Erdington Road when a man scaled a 6ft wall, grabbed the toddler and dragged her into an alleyway.

The man fled after Ellie’s frantic mum Janine raced to her daughter’s rescue.

Three hours later another young girl was almost abducted after a man broke into the four-year-old’s bedroom at her home in St Heliers Road, South Shore.

Police were today quizzing a 30-year-old man over both attempted abductions which happened on Thursday night.

Cuddling Ellie, Janine Gibson told The Gazette about the shock when she realised a man was trying to snatch her daughter.

Ellie was playing on a trampoline with her four-year-old brother and seven-year-old friend when the man jumped over the wall of her home.

She said: “Ellie’s friend screamed ‘Janine, he’s got her’. I flew out the house and he had Ellie in his arms.”
