BLACKPOOL chairman Karl Oyston took time away from one place of worship at Bloomfield Road to visit another for his wedding on Saturday.
Mr Oyston married partner Vicki Wheeler during a ceremony in stunning surroundings at Christ Church in Over Wyresdale, near Lancaster.
The service was attended by members of the Oyston family – including father Owen and mum Vicki – and guests from the football club.
Manager Ian Holloway was a guest at the event along with assistant manager Steve Thompson.
Club president Valery Belokon also flew in for the ceremony.
My Oyston wore a grey morning suit with a red tie and buttonhole flower while Mrs Oyston chose a traditional white gown and carried a bouquet of red.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party returned to the Bloomfield Road stadium for a reception.
Ahead of the event, Mr Oyston told The Gazette he was neither nervous nor excited, just looking forward to the day.
He added: “I can’t wait and I’m really looking forward to it.
“Hopefully it will be a good day.
“I’m not sure what the weather will be like on the day, but we are looking forward to a good day with our families and close friends.
“After the wedding we are coming back to Blackpool for a function at Bloomfield Road and then going to Chile for a few days.”
