A TASTE of the Big Apple came to a quiet corner of the Fylde coast.
The Bishop of New York, the Right Rev E Don Taylor, spent three days in Lancashire as part of a two-month sabbatical to learn about the mission and ministry of rural communities and churches.
His visit to Myerscough College is all a far cry from Bishop Taylor's inner city constituency in America which covers Staten Island, Manhattan and the Bronx.
The Rev Margaret Sherdley, Myerscough College chaplain, said: "Bishop Taylor was especially interested in Myerscough's involvement in supporting rural areas and his enthusiasm grew as he discovered the delights of the beautiful campus and our excellent facilities.
"During his tour, he was also able to meet with exchange students studying within the Landscape Department from Ohio State and Auburn Universities."
