HAVE you ever wondered how to transform your back garden into a wildlife oasis?

Wyre residents have the answer nailed on after attending a bird box making session led by countryside rangers.

Wyre rangers at Wyre Estuary Country Park in Stanah helped visitors to create the wooden boxes yesterday.

Duncan Byrne, a countryside ranger for Wyre, said: “The bird boxes are being built so residents can attract birds to their gardens in the spring.

“We aim to educate people about nature at these events and teach them how to help nurture wildlife.”

It is hoped the bird boxes will provide homes for local birds, such as blue tits and other smaller birds.

Mr Byrne added: “The residents took their boxes home to encourage birds into their own gardens.”

This session was one of many events run by Wyre Rangers throughout the year to provide residents with fun activities that benefit the environment.
