Best budget holiday award for resort hoteliers

The pair, who run Waves Guesthouse on Willshaw Road, North Shore, won the ‘Budget with a Twist’ category at the recent eviivo Awards.

Judges praised the top service delivered to guests for rooms with an average daily rate of under £40.

They fought off competition from nine properties, after being shortlisted among more than 5,900 earlier in the competition organised by the accommodation booking provider.

Mr Donald said: “Ultimately, it’s all about providing our guests with the best possible experience, and the whole team works very hard day in day out to make sure that happens.

“Yet, there’s no denying that being recognised by your peers is extremely satisfying.”

They were presented with their trophy by David Weston, chairman of the B&B Association, at Shakespeare’s Globe in London.
