A trainee accountant from Blackpool has joined a roll-call of elite accountancy talent after scoring top marks on a global exam.
Of the 17,398 learners worldwide, 20-year-old Ben Clarkson, accounts and audit trainee for business advice specialists Champion Accountants, was one of only three UK employees to score 100 per cent in the F4 exam in Corporate and Business Law.
Of those to be awarded the Global prize from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Ben was the only North West learner to achieve full marks.
The worldwide accolade adds to his already exceptional record of academic achievements, which include five A Levels, with A*s in Economics and Law, and nine GCSEs, all at A* or A grade.
Ben said: “It’s great that all my hard work has finally paid off.
“The biggest challenge was balancing studying with working, which meant doing a minimum amount of revision each night.”
David Hardy, director at Champion Accountants, added: “Ben’s achievement demonstrates that the North West possesses world-class talent and puts Blackpool on the map for accountancy accomplishments.”
