Blackpool beauty Joanna Johnson is once again looking to put Blackpool on the map – and do her bit for good causes.
The 22-year-old, from Norbreck, has just scooped the top title of Miss Blackpool Galaxy, putting her through to the Miss Galaxy England 2017 grand final in March, at the Park Hall Hotel, Chorley.
She will compete against girls from across the country in her bid to win the prestigious crown.
And Joanna has been busy planning fundraising events, as she is determined to raise as much as possible for the competition’s chosen charity – The Christie, in Manchester.
She is being sponsored by Fleetwood business owner Jasmine Norton, who runs Jasmine’s Boutique, and together the pair will be organising a fashion show for the charity.
Joanna has also planned other fundraising efforts.
She will be sliding along the longest and fastest zipwire in Europe, across a rock quarry, at 500ft and raising money through sponsorship.
And she is holding a raffle with the chance to win a curly blow-dry at N-dulge hair and beauty salon in Bispham.
Joanna said: “I am so excited to have made it to the final, it is a great achievement and I cannot wait to meet all of the other girls.
“The winner of Miss Galaxy England will travel to the USA with contestants from all over the world, to compete in the Miss Galaxy International final, which is being held in the summer of 2017.
“The international final is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and would be a truly amazing experience.
“The UK has enjoyed some amazing success at the Galaxy International Pageant, with them winning an international crown five times and had placements in every division for the past four years. And I want to raise as much money as I can for The Christie which is a really good cause.”
