A Fylde coast beauty queen is proving she has a head for heights as she prepares for a terrifying 10,000ft drop from the sky.
Jenna Howard, who was crowned Miss Fylde Coast in March, hopes her charity skydive will bolster her changes in this month’s Miss England semi-final.
The hair-raising stunt, which will see her take on her fear of heights, will also help raise money for the Beauty with a Purpose charity – a charity that works with Miss World contestants.
Jenna, 23, is a customer service specialist at Fylde Council.
She said: “The Miss England organisers say I can do anything I want for the charity and sky-diving is something I’ve always wanted to do.”
The beauty, who is from St Annes, will leap from a plane over the Lake District and will free-fall for 30 seconds before opening her parachute and heading back to earth.
She added: “I’m terrified of heights so it will be a massive achievement as well as helping me in my Miss England bid.
“There is nothing I can do to prepare for it – I can literally just turn up on the day, shut my eyes and then jump.”
Jenna’s jump is on May 18. She must raise enough money to pay for it, as well as donations to the charity.
The Miss England semi-final is on May 25. Anyone who wants to sponsor Jenna can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
