A teaching assistant has put her talents to good use by selling freshly baked bread to buy new equipment for the food technology department.
Cathy Burke swapped the kitchen for the classroom when she left the school meals service to join the teaching staff at Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College.
And after she began selling baked goods to staff she has since bought a professional ice-cream maker, a mini blender and an electric can opener for the department.
She said: “There’s nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread filling the room and the corridor.”
Year 11 pupil Jennie Franklin added: “It’s brilliant Mrs Burke has made lessons even better by buying this equipment for us.”
