A four-month-old baby was taken to hospital following a smash involving two vehicles.

One car overturned as a result of the collision on St Annes Road East, near the junction with Crosland Road, St Annes.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene at around 7pm on Saturday following the incident involving a Fiat Punto and a Nissan Micra.

The road was blocked for a short time while emergency services attended to the casualties and recovered the vehicles.

The police said no-one was injured but a four-month-old baby, who had been travelling in one of the cars, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital to be checked over as a precautionary measure.
