HER work to ensure the smooth and successful moving of a whole ward to a new hospital unit has earned matron Diane Stewart a place on the Celebrating Success Awards shortlist.
Diane was nominated under the Inspirational Leadership category of the Gazette-backed awards, which aim to honour the Fylde coast’s NHS heroes.
She led the paediatric unit team through the move from the old children’s wards to a sparkling new unit.
Maia Pelgrom, who nominated Diane, said: “With careful planning, communication and enthusiasm, Diane ensured the new children’s unit was the best we could have. And when the move came, it went as smoothly as possible.”
Diane, who has been working for the trust for three years, added: “Moving the children’s ward to the new centre was a great opportunity, because it’s not every day you get chance to be involved in such a change.
“I was surprised, but delighted, to find out I was on the awards shortlist, but I feel it really is down to the team.
“It’s a really good group here.”
