TWO Paralympians who gave their all for their country at London 2012 have been honoured during a civic reception at Fylde town hall.

Wheelchair racer Shelly Woods and wheelchair rugby player Myles Pearson, both from St Annes, were hailed as a credit to the borough by Fylde mayor Coun Heather Speak during yesterday’s event.

Afterwards, Shelly, 26, said: “It’s nice to have been recognised for our efforts and to know everyone is so proud.”

Myles, 19, added: “I’ve been really busy since last year, and there are more expectations when I play now, but it’s fantastic to be part of it all.

“It was really nice how everyone came together for the Paralympics.”
