Eight jobs could be created at a new car wash proposed for a supermarket car park.
Car Park Valeting Ltd has applied for planning permission for the scheme at Asda on Cherry Tree Road, Marton.
The business would comprise of a hand car wash operation on a site comprised of nine car parking spaces. The application seeks permission for a canopy and office.
A design brief accompanying the submission says: “The operation will employ an average of eight staff made up of two full time staff and a combination of part-time and weekend staff.”
It adds the company has operated for more than 15 years and has more than 90 sites throughout the country.
The report says: “The proposed use on this site is to provide for a hand car washing and valeting business which will involve the exterior and interior cleaning of motor vehicles.
“This includes jet washing, waxing, vacuuming and polishing of vehicles.
“It is intended that customers visiting the shopping centre will leave their vehicle on the site while shopping.”
