Appeal for triathlon volunteers

The St Annes Triathlon

The St Annes Triathlon

The organiser of a Fylde coast triathlon has appealed for help marshalling the event.

St Annes Triathlon organiser Tim Armit said: “The triathlon is one of the largest sporting events in the Fylde and allows almost 700 people, including more than 100 children, to race.

“It is an exciting event but relies on volunteers to help marshal the road closures.

“This year due to clashes with other events we are short of some marshals and would love any support people can give us. You don’t need experience, you have no responsibilities we just need people to help the athletes know the course and ensure roads are closed.”

The event is based around St Annes YMCA Pool in South Promenade and runs from 8am to 1pm on Sunday.

If you can help, contact Tim on 07748 283662.
