Appeal after Blackpool man goes on run

A Blackpool man serving a three year sentence for a string of burglaries is on the run from a young offenders’ institution.

David Bailey, 20, left Thorn Cross Young Offenders Institute in Warrington on Friday, May 10 but did not return.

His current whereabouts are unknown and police are appealing for anyone with any information about where he might be to contact them.

Bailey was serving a three year sentence for a series of burglaries in the Blackpool area in 2011. He was sentenced in January 2012.

He is known to have links to the Blackpool, Garstang and Fleetwood areas and it is thought he may have travelled back to one of them.

Det Cons Steven Hallam, of Blackpool CID said, “I would appeal to anyone who knows where David Bailey is to come forward and contact the police. If anyone has any information or thinks they have seen him, then I would appeal to them to get in touch.”

Any sightings should be reported to Lancashire police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Bailey is described as white, around 6ft 5in tall, with a slim build with short dark brown hair.
