Scouting in Blackpool has been boosted by the introduction of Scout Ambassadors.

Radio Wave presenters Ged Mills and Hayley Kay and MP Paul Maynard have been welcomed to the Scout movement to promote its benefits to youngsters.

Mr Maynard, MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys, said: “I believe Scouting is one of the best organisations young people can belong to. The confidence, skills, friends and outlook on life learnt by being part of a troop or pack really does set an individual up for the challenges they face as they grow up.”

And Ged added: “We were honoured to have been asked to become local ambassadors.

“The organisation both locally and nationally provides opportunities for young people that some could only wish for, and really prepares young people for a great start in life.”

The ambassadors will be attending Scouting events and have pledged to promote its benefits and support its endeavours in the community.
