Lynne Gorrie is doing something really scary this Halloween - shaving her hair off.

The Blackpool Zoo super fan is hoping the feat will help her to raise money for 21st Century Tiger to help her favourite animals, especially the zoo’s critically endangered Amur tigers Zambar and Alyona.

Lynne, 57, has already raised thousands of pounds for the charity.

She said: “My hair will grow back, but when tigers are gone they are gone forever, which will be terrible. I have dedicated years to fundraising for tigers and will continue for as long as I can.”

The member of the zoo on East Park Drive spends much of her spare time taking photos of zoo animals.

As well as shaving her head the keen photographer will be on hand to offer tips and advice about photography to zoo visitors over the half term.

Lynne will have her head shaved by Katie Mayor, a stylist at the Preston Jo and Cass Hair and Beauty Salon, in the Big Cat House at Blackpool Zoo on October 31 as part of a week of tiger events.
