Runners, joggers and walkers brought normally quiet rural streets to life for the annual Pilling 10km charity run and fun run.

Around 30 people took part in the 10km run while 120 people, some as young as three, took on the 4km fun run along the coastal road and back through Pilling village past St John’s Church.

The event, held yesterday, raised more than £650 to be donated to Diabetes UK. Organiser Alan Morris said: “The school really benefits from these run events in terms of children getting good messages about health and the school is very much at the heart of the community and in support of charity fund-raising.”
