An air traffic control technical fault has led to holidaymakers being delayed at Blackpool Airport.
The airport’s 9.30am flight to Alicante was delayed by an hour because of problems at the National Air Traffic Control Service (Nats), in Swanwick, Hampshire.
The service was “having difficulty switching from its night time to day time operation” and has affected the resort’s airport.
However, the disruption in Blackpool has been limited to one flight.
Other airports affected include Heathrow, Manchester and Newcastle.
Sue Kendrick, from Blackpool Airport, said: “The Alicante flight has got to come back in at 4pm and that will probably be delayed unless they make up some time.
“The only other flights we have today are to the Isle of Man and they are not affected.
“Keep checking our website which we will update with live flight information.”
