Police, fire crews and the air ambulance were called to a two-car smash near the junction of Bispham Road, Blackpool Road and Bristol Avenue, just before 9.55am.

Four people were hurt, including a man who was cut from a car and believed to have neck and back injuries.

He was airlifted to hospital.

The roads in the area were closed while police carried out an accident investigation at the scene. They were reopened at about 12.50pm.
