A planning appeal has granted permission for a development of apartments and offices on the derelict Texaco Garage site on the A583 at its junction with Freckleton Street in Kirkham.
Coun Simon Renwick, above, said: "I am delighted this has been won on appeal.

"The area has been an eyesore for many years now and this development offers an opportunity.

"I think the mixed use will be good, jobs for some and homes for others."
