£43,400 raised at the ball

THERE was dinner, music and skating at the annual Trinity Hospice Ball.

The sell-out event took place at Blackpool Tower Ballroom and raised £43,400 for the Bispham based hospice.

Close to 500 guests enjoyed a meal by Twelve restaurant of Thornton, and a night of entertainment, with music and dancing.

Celebrity hosts were Trinity and Brian House supporters former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon, Dancing on Ice star Dan Whiston and radio DJ Hayley Kay.

Grace was said before the meal by hospice president, footballing legend Jimmy Armfield.

Hayley and Dan, former winners of television’s Dancing on Ice, performed an off ice skate routine to entertain guests.

The mighty Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer was played by Peter Jebso.

The menu had a seaside theme – including ice cream, popcorn, candy floss and traditional rock.

Linzi Young, fund-raising manager for Trinity Hospice, said: “We were simply overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors and supporters. It was a wonderful evening.”
