STRICTLY Come Dancing's newly crowned champion has revealed Blackpool's Tower Ballroom inspired her to dance.
Camilla Dallerup, along with her partner and Strictly co-star Ian Waite, wowed crowds at the resort's famous attraction during a special Night of the Stars event.

They performed a dramatic paso doble, a cha cha, a rumba, a samba and the jive for an adoring crowd, receiving rapturous app-lause throughout.

Blonde bombshell Camilla, who jetted in from London to be at the event, said: "We are so lucky to be here.

"This venue here in Blackpool is really where I started and the memories just keep flooding back.

"Ever since I was 12 years old and my parents brought me to Blackpool Tower, all I have wanted to do is dance and perform."

Camilla swept to victory on Strictly Come Dancing with Holby City actor Tom Chambers, following a voting controversy in the semi-final and final of the hit BBC show.

The voting fiasco in the semi-finals saw the couple sneak through to the final, despite coming last in the judges' votes.

But they won the hearts of the public in the final and were crowned champions.

Ian also did well in the show, surpassing expectations with partner and complete novice dancer Jodie Kidd.

He too was full of praise for Blackpool and the Tower. He said: "It's always wonderful to perform in Blackpool.

"The North West is so lucky to have the best ballroom in the world.
"Where is there a more beautiful ballroom in the world than the Tower Ballroom? We should thank our lucky stars for this beautiful venue."

The pair delighted the crowds at the event, which was organised by the Tower's resident dance teachers Jason and Shemayne Parkinson.

The event also featured performances by youngsters from Jason and Shemayne's Dance With Passion school and organist Chris Hopkins.
Jason said: "It's a fantastic honour to have Camilla and Ian here to support the event."

Sandra Kay, who came all the way from London for the event, said: "I loved Camilla and Tom and I just jumped at the chance to come and see them."
