THE local primary care trust is asking local people for their views about its services to make sure that top quality healthcare is available for all.
NHS North Lancashire is currently consulting with North Lancashire residents, voluntary organisations, charities and members of faith groups to ask for their experiences of accessing healthcare in Lancaster, Fylde and Wyre districts.

Feedback from
the consultation will help NHS North Lancashire develop its Single Equality Scheme which ensures that healthcare is available to everyone, regardless of race, religion, belief, sexual orientation, disability, gender or age – a key element of the NHS Constitution.

NHS North Lancashire is inviting feedback from local people online at www.northlancshealth.nhs.uk.

You can also attend one of a number of drop-in sessions throughout July in Lancaster and Lytham.

Dr Frank Atherton, NHS North Lancashire's director of Public Health and lead director for equality and human rights, says: "It is a founding principle of the NHS that healthcare is accessible for all and we are constantly ensuring that the services we provide and commission exclude no-one.

"For example, this might include ensuring that our services are in the places they are most needed, or that translation and Braille services are available.

"By telling us of their thoughts and experiences of NHS North Lancashire services, local people and organisations can help us design services which are tailored to the needs of local people so that we can continue to provide top-quality healthcare to those who need in the most.

Anyone wishing to find out more about the Single Equality Scheme or the consultation events, can go to www.northlancshealth.nhs.uk or contact NHS North Lancashire on 01524 519 225.

Meetings at Moor Lane Mills in Lancaster are on:
Wednesday, July 8 between 3.30pm and 7pm; Wednesday, July 15 between 3.30pm and 7pm; Thursday, July 16 between 3.30pm and 7pm.
