Youngsters have got a Big Talent
THE first two heats of The Big One Talent Show have taken place at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the judges were so impressed with the standard that a record number of prize packs were handed out.
There is just one more heat to go in the search for this year's young star, which will be held on Thursday. The competition is open to anyone aged 7 to 17 years, solo artists or groups, opera or pop singers, moon walkers to dance troupes – anything at all.
The first heat saw young accordionist, Nancy Petrelengro scoop the number one spot and a place in the final, closely followed by the singing talents of Megan Scott, Aiden Dervine and Melissa Milles.
Amanda Thompson, managing director of the Pleasure Beach, and its creative director Antony Johns, are judging this year's competition.
The show takes place in the Globe Theatre located at the main entrance to the Pleasure Beach and begins at 2pm.
Entry is free but acts must register prior to the show to clinch a place in the line up. Each performer receives a free wristband, with the lucky winner from the final landing themselves a top of the range new mountain bike.
