What Katie did next
Model, mother, author, headline grabber, serial wife, singer, Wannabe X Factor judge and detective.
Will the real Katie Price please stand up?
Detective? More of that later.
Katie – the fame seeker formerly known as Jordan – has clearly had a long day promoting her debut solo single Free To Love Again and her latest novel Paradise. The download-only summer dance sound failed to top the charts last week despite her best efforts, the book looks set to join her other best selling fiction works, of which some two million have been sold.
"I'm feeling good but I'm ready for home," she says. "I do a lot of work from home. Being a mum is very important to me so I do as much as I can at home and work out my own timetable.
"The song is a thank you to my fans for their loyalty and support. I hadn't planned on doing a record but producer and writer Mike Rose tracked me down and talked me into it. I'm not the best singer in the world but it's a good summer sound and my friends liked it so I thought why not?"
The whole thing took just three weeks from idea to download release.
"I didn't want to give record companies the opportunity to reject it!" she says.
Then there's the novel – her fifth collabroration with Rebecca Farnworth – and the final instalment of her Angel trilogy. It sees her visiting SilverDells in Kirkham and Waterstone's in Blackpool next Thursday.
She actually prefers writing autobiographies – the "latest one" comes out in October.
"I've done loads – it's how I can tell the truth about myself," she says. "I'm known for not lying."
As for the fiction, especially the books about the life of glamorous model Angel.... "There's bits of me in there but it's pure fiction – easy reading."
So what does she read when she has a spare moment?
"The last one was Men On Death Row," is the surprise answer.
"It was about their last meal, their last words – things like that.
"I'm fascinated by serial murderers, rapists, hardcore paedophiles, what makes them the way they are. I'd like to be a detective.
"I'd love to go into a prison and interview criminals. I've always had a fascination with how their brains work and what makes them tick."
And whilst there's probably not a prisoner in the land wouldn't sign up for an interview she admits she will probably have to wait to realise that particular ambition.
"I can see there might be problems," she says.
Right now she's got her book signings to concentrate on.
"I love doing them but I always worry that no one is going to turn up," she says. "People think I'm this really confident person but I worry that it will just be me and a big pile of books.
"So I always stay until I've seen everyone and signed everything. It doesn't matter how long it takes or how long the queue is.
"I'm not one of those arrogant personalities.
"I appreciate it's my fans who have kept me in the limelight for 14 years."
